Differential: What It Is and Can You Service It

Differential: What It Is and Can You Service It

Ever Wondered What your Differential is? This basic car part may blow your mind. Do you often turn your car when driving? We're sure you do, whether it's merging onto I-95 or turning off Street Road. Something you may not realize though is there's a part of your vehicle that is necessary to allow you to do that, it's called the Differential. How A Differential Works When you go around any kind of curve the wheels on the inside of the curve move slower than the wheels on the outside. This is just like a NASCAR driver can pass another on the inside of a turn, only it's all on one car. So, any rear-wheel drive car or truck must have a set of gears that allows the two parts of the axle to turn the wheels at two different speeds. The Differential is the name for this whole unit. Watch this in motion here. (This is the Rear Differential of a 2011 Chevy Tahoe.)   Differential Service near me Although this ma ... read more

What is a Cabin Air Filter and Can I Replace It?

What is a Cabin Air Filter and Can I Replace It?

It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining and you jump in the car to run out. Maybe you're headed to work right here in Lower Bucks County, maybe you're just out for a drive to Tamanend Park or running to Don Giovanni's for some tasty treats...? (Can you stop by Frank's with some?!) Anyway, wherever you go there's something you won't want to be without: a Cabin Air Filter. What is a Cabin Air Filter? Turning on the fan in your car pulls air from outside into the passenger area called the cabin. In the case of your Air Conditioning a refrigerant cools down that air, but - either way - when it comes in it should be clean, right? That's why, just like your engine, a manufactured, pleated filter catches contaminates like pollen particles and dust before they get blown into the air you breathe as you motor down the highway. 2021 Electric Hybrid Jeep Wrangler In Bucks County PA

Well, you've heard it through the grapevine for some time now. Finally, it's here. All that amazing electric torque wrapped right into the offroad system that has been known since 1986 as the Jeep Wrangler. CZmarlin, Wikimedia, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ At first glance, the commercial with a shiny silver vehicle rambling past buffalo and all manner of other wildlife may make you think this is the first All Electric Jeep. It's not. It is a very formidable hybrid though and since the age of the Toyota Prius we've all heard about the unbelievable fuel economy and environmental-friendliness of half-electric, half-gas cars. When you drive in this 4x4 machine, just like other Hybrids, the electric motors provide instant torque while the gas motor keeps you running too. So, where can you buy a Jeep Wrangler 4xe in Bucks County? Right now, Chapman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Horsham has two listed: both Rubicons with a hard top - one black, one silver. A Fluid Situation - Identifying Engine Fluids Under Your Hood

If that annoying light on your dashboard is on again, you might be thinking, "Oh great! How do I deal with this now?" Don't worry! Frank's is here to help. One of the most common things that will trigger a warning light is a low fluid level and there are several types of fluids that a car or truck needs regularly to operate. They include Wiper Fluid, Engine Oil, Engine Coolant, Brake Fluid and Power Steering Fluid. So what are these mystery liquids? How do you know what you need when and how do you solve it? Let's take a look, in a very simple way, at how these all work... Under the hood of a 2015 Kia Forte. Can you tell where all fluid reservoirs are? Keep reading to find out. More or less the only fluid that you may want to change yourself is your wiper fluid level. When you get in your car on a pollen-filled day or are driving down a briny winter road you know you have to use the wiper wash feature on your car to clean the windshield. That little mist of watery ... read more

What is Antifreeze anyway?

What is Antifreeze anyway?

There's a lot of things to know about your car. What you may be thinking is: all I want to know is how much money will it take to keep it on the road? A great question for everyone. At Frank's Servicenter we can easily demistify all the automotive jargon and keep you going where you need to go. If you're interested though here's a closer look at one of the essential engine components that gets you from Point 'A' to Point 'B': Antifreeze. Although electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, most cars on the road have something called an Internal Combustion Engine. What that means is a series of tiny micro explosions produces the energy you need to move down the road. Obviously, though, all that exploding and re-exploding gets a little warm. In fact, most engine's operating temperatures are around 200 degrees farenheit. So in order to keep the motor from getting too hot we use coolant.  Coolant is a watery mixture that runs through channe ... read more
