Summer Car Care Tips for Bucks County PA
Need a warm weather tune up? Book an appointment with Frank's today!
The first tips we have to give are super simple and free to anyone! It has to do with being prepared. You don’t have to be an Eagle Scout to remember to bring water and snacks for long drives. You never know, an unexpected traffic jam or car accident could make for a minor emergency situation if you’re dehydrated. Also, plan your route. Look at the map to be sure there are alternate ways to get to your summer destination, or even just to work! When the thermometer’s breaking 100 degrees you’ll be glad you did.
Car Tire Repair in Summer
One of the most important summer car maintenance items are tires. The road can get pretty hot, be sure your tires are inflated properly in our new DIY tire pressure video! A burst tire could mean being stuck in the heat waiting for a tow.
Coolant and Summer Car Safety
Staying in the know about your car is the best way to stay safe. Car motors rely on something called coolant to keep them from overheating. There’s an expansion tank connected to the radiator where you can add coolant if needed, but on hot days the coolant can expand into that reservoir. Also, never open a coolant tank if you just drove your car - the pressure could cause the coolant to explode out! Frank’s Servicenter can handle any coolant issues your car may have for you, so you don’t have to.
Car Air Conditioning in Summer
Using your Air Conditioning to beat the heat may seem like a pretty obvious summer car safety tip, but your AC may not be blowing as strong or as cold as it should be. Here at Frank’s we can recharge the Freon in any car’s AC system to keep you as cold as possible in the sunshine!
