What is a brake caliper?
A "brake caliper" is a component of your vehicles "disc brake" system. The brake caliper is a hydraulic component that applies pressure to the brake pads against the brake rotor and in turn slows down the wheel and ultimately the vehicle. Brake calipers are situated in a harsh environment exposed to road grime, water dust dirt, and salt with a wide range of temperatures. The caliper is filled with "brake fluid".
