Here at Frank’s Servicenter we have seen an increase in forced induction engines come into our shop. We are happy to see small 4 cylinder engines that are getting more power and better fuel economy than their 20 year old full sized V8 engine counterparts. We are all caught up on modern vehicle models that now come equipped with chargers straight from the factory.
Anytime you have questions about how to be maintain or repair your super or turbocharged engine, give us a call. Some good advice regarding charged engines to keep you out of the shop longer between necessary service intervals. Charged engine drivers should use the recommended fuel grade by their manufacturers. Fuels with lower Octane grades can cause premature detonation which in turn will cause damage to your engine.
You might be surprised to find out that superchargers and turbochargers do not necessarily require maintenance but it still important to perform regular maintenance on your vehicle such as oil changes. Chargers do wear out like an other parts with time and it is important to have a general idea when you should repair or replace your charger to keep your vehicle running smoothly.
Feel free to drop by our shop, give us a call or conveniently schedule an appointment online for a day and time that works best for you!
