How often should I change the belt on my car?

With advancements in technology and design vehicle components are lasting longer then ever. Specifically new serpentine drive belts can last up to 90,000 miles. Since the late 1990s, automotive manufacturers have phased out Chloroprene (neoprene) serpentine belts and are now installing ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM for short) belts on current vehicle models. This new construction has extended the useful life of the belts. Gates, the leading belt manufacturer, suggests inspecting the belt system at 60k and replacing the belt system at 90k.
